DIY Honey Hair Mask

DIY Honey Hair Mask

By: Ariana Palmieri

This all-natural DIY honey hair mask is perfect for moisturizing damaged, dry hair. Honey is a humectant which helps retain moisture, making it the perfect choice for a hair mask. It softens and smooths hair, stimulates hair growth and is naturally antibacterial (which promotes a healthy scalp). This hair mask only contains 3 ingredients, most of which might even be in your kitchen already.

  1. Combine the ingredients in a bowl. Use less coconut oil if you have shorter hair, more if you have longer hair.
  2. Then, massage into scalp and work into your ends. Leave it on for 15 minutes before shampooing. Do this once a week if you have really dry and damaged hair, twice a month if you have slightly dry hair.

Note: You might have to shampoo your hair twice to get the coconut oil out, so make sure you lather up and scrub good! If you know your hair doesn't respond well to coconut oil, you can substitute it with avocado, grapeseed, olive or apricot oil. If you're looking for an even more minimalist hair mask, try using just honey mixed with oil and omitting the yogurt. The choice is yours!
